From the Student Competition Archives: Competition #5 - 1999 Winners
As we celebrate SPD's 50th Anniversary, we're going back in time to showcase all the past Student Competition winners.
Back in the beginning, the competition was more like the professional competition in that it honored the best work being done by students from the past year (as opposed to now where you create entries specifically for our competition ... look for this year's rules to be announced soon!).
Last week we showcased the top winners from the 1998 competition. Today we're highlighting all the winners from the 1999 competition. This 5th Student Competition was published in Pub 34...

COMPETITION CO-CHAIRS: Gail Anderson, Senior Art Director, Rolling Stone and Paul Roelofs, Art Director, InStyle
As always, there was one top award in honor of B.W. Honeycutt. That first-place winner won $2,500, while the second- and third-place winners won $1,000 each. These cash prizes were made possible by the SPD art auction. In addition, there were 5 Merit Winners.
