Digital Adaptations (Freelance $40/hr.)
MUST have strong Flash experience. This person will be working on online, banner (primarily), tablet, web croppings, LED & plasmas. They will work with the Traffic team for direction on what assets need to be built, and the interactive producers who will provide the freelancers with the master asset template that these individuals will modify. Food Network Magaine (Hearst Corporation) is seeking a graphic design student for an internship in the Art Department. The intern will assist in the daily workflow of the magazine. Duties will include: updating layouts, minor imaging work, and some design. Candidates should have an interest in magazine publishing, strong working knowledge of InDesign and Photoshop. Interest in food a plus. Duration: January-April Applicants must receive college credit for the internship this position is unpaid. A commitment of 3 days a week is preferred, from 10 am to 6 pm (flexible).Newspaper designer / sports
We're looking for a fulltime designer to create a daily sports section. Here at the Louisville Design Studio, we drive presentation for 21 newspapers including the Indianapolis Star, the Cincinnati Enquirer, the Louisville Courier-Journal and the Lansing State News.We're in the heart of basketball country. Last March, three of the four Final Four teams were the home team for our newspapers. And, if college basketball isn't your thing, we also lead visual design for the Colts, Bengals, Reds, and Pacers, and for events like the Kentucky Derby, Indy 500, Brickyard 400, the 2014 PGA Championship and the 2015 Final Four.
The right candidates should be highly collaborative, creative, possess graphic design know-how, and work well with others. If you can show these qualities in your clips, then this is a great opportunity for either the experienced visual journalist or the less-experienced but skilled up-and-comer. We will host design for three big-city dailies, and quite a few small to mid-sized papers.
This is a full-time gig, no freelancers. This position typically works an evening shift (average hours 4-12). You must relocate to Louisville - which was just recently named the No. 1 travel destination in the U.S. for 2013 by Lonely Planet (who called it the new Portland). Seriously, it's a great town with amazing food, the best bourbon cocktails and a super-low cost of living. We do pay a relocation stipend.
