DIGITAL+PRINT MARKETING SR. DESIGNER, Condé Nast

We are seeking a designer who can seamlessly transition between print and digital. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ideating concepts and creating designs in a collaborative marketing environment. He/she must possess a sophisticated design and typographic aesthetic, keen understanding of digital, print, and experiential design. Must have a good eye to source illustrators and photographers. A plus: an interest in topics relating to the men's space (GQ, Golf Digest, WIRED, Pitchfork, Ars Technica, Backchannel). Designer, Story Worldwide

Story Worldwide, an award-winning integrated agency, seeks a creative, energetic and talented designer to contribute to the design of Endless Vacation, an award-winning travel magazine with a circulation of 1.9 million, and Ventures, a B2B magazine for the vacation ownership industry. The designer will assist the creative director with the design of each issue, from initial concepts and exploratory design to preparing layouts for print. The designer will also assign illustrations, design infographics, and create simple animations for digital editions.

Graphic Designer, San Diego Zoo Global

The Graphic Designer creates communications and fund-raising collateral for the San Diego Zoo's Development/Membership Department. Designing printed materials, Web and electronic media projects, fund-raising graphics, signage, advertising, and other collateral are essential functions of the job. Applicants must be proficient in Adobe Creative Suites and Mac design programs, hand illustration, and project management. Knowledge of typography, color and other print processes, and layout/production is necessary. A degree in the graphic design field or equivalent specialized training and a minimum of 4 years of work experience in graphic design and illustration are essential. Selected candidate must be able to work and communicate effectively in a team environment. Final candidates must be able to provide a portfolio of their work.

Design Director, Atlanta magazine

Atlanta magazine is looking for a Design Director, who will be responsible for the overall look of the Atlanta magazine brand--focusing on print and, to a lesser extent, on digital and social media. S/he will collaborate with, supervise, and inspire a three-person art staff to create a magazine each month that is visually inviting, provocative, sophisticated, and commercial. The design director will touch, directly or indirectly, every edit page of the magazine, from the tiniest photo credit to a 16-page service package stuffed (engagingly) with dozens of elements. Beyond the monthly main magazine, s/he will also oversee the design of our ancillary edit-produced publications, including our quarterly shelter book, HOME magazine.

Job Responsibilities: 
• Working with the editor-in-chief to conceive and execute compelling and commercial covers 
• Overseeing and implementing any future redesign of the magazine 
• Clearly and promptly communicating assignments to contributing photographers, illustrators, and graphic artists 
• Using a limited budget in creative ways 
• Working closely with different departments to ensure a timely close of each issue 
• Finding ways to tell stories graphically and in unconventional and non-linear ways 
• Leading brainstorming sessions, suggesting heds and deks, and coming up with story ideas 
• Planning, alongside the editor-in-chief and section editors, for future covers and coverage 
• Nurturing and cultivating a deep roster of contributing photographers, illustrators, and graphic artists 
• Directing photo shoots as appropriate

Photo Editor- Temporary- Full Time

The New York Post Alexa Magazine has an opening for a talented and creative Photo Editor to join its team. This is full time temporary position. The ideal candidate must have an elevated taste in fashion and lifestyle photography, and be able to work in an extremely fast-paced, highly collaborative environment. Time management skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines are essential. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who is ready to hit the ground running. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Work closely with the Creative Director and Editors to conceive and successfully execute a creative, visually driven magazine. • The ability to multitask like a pro - you will be working on multiple issues with different Editors simultaneously. • Research, pitch and assign photographers for cover and inside features (Celebrity, Lifestyle, Still Life, Conceptual). Candidate must have a working knowledge and relationship with photographers and their agencies. • Organize and oversee all aspects of shoot production: Working directly with talent and publicists, hiring and managing photographers + other crew members, securing locations and permits, orchestrating all shoot logistics, negotiating fees and managing budgets. • Oversee the production and delivery of images to meet specified deadlines, keeping the team on schedule. • Conceptualize compelling visual treatments for stories. • Source imagery spanning a variety of genres including fashion, beauty, home, design and conceptual. Successful candidates will have familiarity with PR & photo agencies, and have the ability to source photography in other ways as needed. • Contribute to the magazine by participating in brainstorming sessions, cultivating a roster of contributing photographers, and being an overall collaborative member of the team. Photo Researcher

RD.com (Reader's Digest magazine's website) is looking for a photo researcher to conduct stock photography research for daily web posts and slideshows. Working mainly out of our Westchester office, this person has a background in photo or design and is able to work under tight deadlines. They will work closely with the Digital Designer and Photo Director working closely with the design and edit teams to meet daily posting needs for web slideshows and posts. We are a general interest website, you'd be working on a variety of subjects, health, beauty, science, fun facts, humor, inspirational real stories and even some pop culture. Having a background that includes light photo retouching such as silhouetting and extending images is preferred. You must be able to work in a very fast-paced environment under tight deadlines and on several things at once. You also need to be able to work independently and in close collaboration with our group, good communication skills are a must. Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and some experience with InDesign helpful. WordPress and photo research experience are preferred.
